Pleats Please

Good morning from Italy!

This week has been quite surreal, just a few days ago I was deep in the bustle of London Fashion Week, soaking in the shows, the people and the clothes, and now I write this post from a lounge chair, overlooking the majestic Lake Garda - I'm here for some much needed relaxation!

LFW is filled with so many inspiring aspects and this year I was so fortunate to have attended the shows of some of my favourite designers, as well as covering backstage beauty (be sure to follow the Vlogs on my YouTube channel here) and between dashing through shows I still somehow managed to steal a few moments to shoot some outfits for the blog, and this is my final LFW look. (Click here for my first look, and here for my second).

This outfit is more 'my style' than 'London Fashion Week style', but I kind of feel like I'm a little bit over getting dressed up for the street style snaps, dressing for someone else other than yourself. So I chose this feminine floaty pleated skirt - at under 50 it's one of those budget-friendly statement pieces that is my kind of wardrobe staple. The colour is described as 'natural' and in my eyes it almost alters depending on your outfit and situation - here for example I feel that it picks up a pinky hue.

I styled it minimally with a grey marl T-shirt (every girl should own at least one of these) and my most practical and fashionable new bag - this gorgeous soft leather grey backpack. If you've not tried a backpack before, you won't fully be able to understand the sheer bliss and freedom of being hands free - a delicacy especially during fashion week, when you can barely manage to balance your phone, camera and show invitations in your hands.

The rest of my accessories and more details are listed below, enjoy! xo

LFW | The SoHo Sophisticate

Are you ready for the London Fashion Week overload here on Fashion Mumblr?!

For the next few days there's going to be an #LFW takeover on the blog, I'll be taking you with me behind the scenes at London Fashion Week, covering backstage beauty, fashion shows, and of course, the outfits! Things kicked off on Friday, and I chose this practical and playful playsuit from Closet London. With day one of fashion week also being my busiest day, I wanted a chic and simple look so this monochrome one piece was absolutely perfect.

Strolling through the streets of SoHo, the new location for London Fashion Week, the fashionistas were out in force, decorating London's streets with lashings of colour, suede and impossibly high heels. Confused faces peered out from office windows, and work men and builders craned their necks to get a glimpse of the glamorous girls strutting through the cobbled streets. Hidden amongst the shops, offices and high rise buildings, the locations for the shows were hubs of style, with photographers lurking behind every corner ready to get the perfect street style snap.

So join me for the next few days to see what I wore and what I got up to at London Fashion Week, and don't forget to check out my latest video to see my Pre-LFW Beauty Routine!

The Denim Mini Skirt

A new wardrobe staple that every girl needs in her closet is a classic, button-down denim mini.

I'm talking about that one that you find reaching for with every top, every jumper (on a daily basis). The one that literally takes all of your will power not to wear every single day because it just seems to work with everything.

This particular classic button-down denim mini is a vibrant blue, and embodies that effortless everyday look, and it's also only 28. It begs to be worn with this season's rust shade, so I paired it with a new lace up top and my (also lace up) chunky heels which were a steal at just 22.99. The fashion steals continue with the bag. You've seen it before and this definitely won't be the last time it appears on the blog - my favourite Chloe Drew Dupe which I picked up for just 40. Get the details down below! Xo

Seventies Style

This outfit is characterised by all kinds of Seventies details.

From the glamorous statement Seventies style wide leg trousers, to my absolute favourite new summer bag - my Chloe Faye dupe. It seems at the moment I'm really drawn to seventies details, and this #OOTD is my favourite way of pulling the trend together.

Cat-eyed sunglasses are my accessory of choice for a bright, warm day in London, and add a touch of feminine 70s glamour. This pair were a steal from Topshop, and I find myself reaching for them over my pricier pairs time and time again.

The geometric trousers steal the show, the high waisted design gives a leg lengthening effect, and you  instantly feel like you've pulled together a fabulous outfit just from this one statement piece. I chose a plain white blouse to pair with the trousers, and my current favourite brown sandals to complete the look. For more outfit details, keep scrolling!

Laid-Back London

One of the great things about living in London is that you can dress up, or dress down, and no one will really bat an eyelid.

In fact, it is more than acceptable to pull together an oh-so-casual outfit, and then add a touch of glamour with heels and a designer dupe bag, and this look rocks exactly that. I built the look around my new high rise ripped jeans, adding a taupe suede top - of course- and lace up block heels (which were an absolute steal at just under 23!) to give me the height boost that I need! Distressed jeans have definitely become by everyday go-to, the easy and effortless vibe of this look is most definitely addictive for city living.

My newest Chloe dupe bag was such a steal at under 40, and is a brilliant dupe of the 'Faye' bag. It's the ideal size for a day strolling the city, and the perfect shape too as it's a cross body - absolute winner! The bag also comes in classic black and a gorgeous mink colour too.

I've become obsessed with the new copper range from Trollbeads and this White Diamond bangle adds a gorgeous lady like touch to this look. I finished the #OOTD with my favourite accessories, so scroll down for more details and all the links!
