Suede x Suede

I think I'm in love with the 'idea' of Autumn.

Even in London, it's still mild and the sun is still shining, yet I'm dreaming of cosy layers and pumpkin spice lattes. Since we aren't quite ready for Autumnal knits, I've found myself finding ways to add a touch of Autumn styling to some of my favourite summer pieces, such as these white wide leg trousers that I'm debuting today.

The outfit is quintesentially autumnal and effortlessly elegant. I've added a knitted T with stripes of Autumnal colours (and a fabulous price tag) and embellished with this stunning suede jacket.  Oh yes, the jacket. Possibly the most fabulous piece in my wardrobe this Autumn, it adds instant seventies glamour to any autumnal look - and another way to add more suede into my Autumn ensembles! The stylish finishing touches include these cat eye sunglasses and my tan handbag, as well as my new favourite necklace from Swarovski.

These photos were taken by Jay McLoughlin, using an Olympus Pen E-PL 7 and a combination of the 45mm lensand 75mm lens.

xoxo

A day in Richmond

Happy Sunday! So by now you might have noticed that the Sunday slot on the blog is usually reserved for some for of day out/afternoon tea/things to do type post, and today is no exception. Last weekend, for Mum's birthday, we had my brother and his wife and two children over to visit, so we headed to Richmond for a family day out. Close to London but without the overcrowding and tourist traps of the city, and with plenty to see and do without spending a fortune - it's one of my favourite places to spend the day.

We arrived hungry, so our first port of call was Jackson & Rye. I'm a big fan of their breakfasts and often visit the restaurant in SoHo, the decor is exactly my taste too, rustic but without feeling derelict. The Richmond restaurant overlooks the river and has a beautiful long marble bar if you just fancy an aperitif, or leather booths for long, relaxed lunches.

So the pre-holiday health kick went out the window, as we couldn't resist the burgers and Mac 'n' Cheese, as well as a cheese cake to finish, but we soon walked it off with a stroll down the river bank and through the winding shopping streets.

After mooching round the shops (I picked up lots of home pieces in Anthropologies, home haul video coming soon!) we stumbled upon the Farmer's Market, discovering home made macarons, beautiful flower arrangements, and delicious biltong.

If there's one thing I learnt on our day out to Richmond, it's that my sweet tooth definitely runs in the family, with Mum, my brother and both my niece and (2 year old) nephew ordering double Mr Whippy ice creams! Charlie had strawberry sauce too which I immediately regretted not getting too, it looked delish! But as you can see from my face, I was still pretty pleased to be enjoying my first ice cream of the summer!

I chose a new casual day dress with pretty detail on the neckline from M&S for the day trip, as well as some white leather mules (also M&S) which have a super spongy sole making them incredibly comfy for a day wondering around. My Tory Burch bag was perfect to throw in all my little purchases for the day, as well as my cardigan for those cool moments when the sun went in!

Have you spent a day in Richmond?

Real Alczar de Sevilla #OOTD

After a morning of the buzz and busyness of the bustling streets of Seville, we were ready to escape.

Hidden behind high stone walls, in the centre of Seville is the Real Alczar de Sevilla - a royal palace  built by Moorish Muslim kings, and without doubt one of the most beautiful buildings in Spain, if not the world! We spent the afternoon exploring the beautiful tiled corridors and winding through the beautiful gardens, ducking between shady orange groves and through the cobbled paths.

For a day of exploring, I chose my black New Look camisole top (to still catch some rays on my shoulders!) and my light silky trousers from Lipsy. My white sandals are from Next and although they have a 5 inch heel, I still find them comfortable enough for a day exploring the city!

One of my favourite things about the Real Alczar de Sevilla is that there were fountains everywhere!  Although the temptation to go for a paddle was pretty overwhelming in the 33 degree heat, the gentle splashing noise seems refreshing enough! As well as the fountains, the tiles. Beautiful tiles, everywhere. So many photo opportunities!

And the flowers! This place was stunning in so many ways - we can't I grow flowers like this at home?!

Where is the most beautiful place you've ever visited?
